TCF™ Thermal Color Fusion
This special chemical heat treatment — patented in Austria and patent pending in the United States — is stable and permanent, and offers exciting possibilities to jewelry manufacturers for up-to-the-minute looks at affordable prices.
Distributed worldwide by sales offices, the current color palette created by TCF technology includes Poppy (bright orange), Pink, Turquoise Blue (greenish blue), Complexion (light yellowish brown), Paraiba Blue, Infinite Blue (a slightly grayish-blue), Khaki and Blazing Red in Topaz, and Arctic Blue (a new icy blue hue not previously available in CZ), Amber (a rich golden honey), Plexi Blue (a pastel grayish blue), Salmon Pink (a new reddish Pink), Green and Red in Cubic Zirconia.
“Special standard tests have been applied to ensure our products are fulfilling the requirements critical to manufacturers,” explains Hubert Salvenmoser, product manager. “Unlike irradiated or electron treated products, our Passion Topaz stones (TCF™) have proven to sustain cast-in-place methods and cleaning processes like ultra sonic, magnetic pin, and acid bath when pre-defined parameters are maintained, which are well defined on a fact sheet to our customers. In addition to its durability, our treatment contains no radiation, and is therefore safe and environmentally friendly. Based on these physical properties, creating jewelry with trendy, innovative colors will be a simple and attractive task for our customers.”
Similiarly, CZ Arctic Blue (and the other new CZ colors) can be cast in place by using traditional wax setting techniques, allowing for easy and affordable design options. According to Harald Winzer for Cubic Zirconia and Synthetics Division other blue CZ colors in the market change if you apply casting-in-place techniques because of applied heat. He emphasizes that unlike conventional CZ blue cut from traditional CZ blue rough, Artic Blue CZ shows one homogeneous color with no color variation. He notes that the technology will open up many new colors in CZ and other gemstones.
Sizes and shapes currently available in TCF™ Passion Topaz include round in all colors from 1.50mm to 3.00mm (in steps of 0.25mm except 2.75mm); and squares in all colors in 2.00mm, 2.50mm and 3.00mm sizes. In some colors, Swarovski is working on round stones in 1.00mm and 1.25mm, as well as larger sizes up to 10.00mm, details pending. The new CZ colors are available in round cuts from 1.50mm to 3mm, and square princess shape in 2.50mm to 4.00mm.
